- Meet Clarizza Nocum, LMT Our New Expert in Deep Tissue and Sports Massage
Tension has a way of becoming background noise. Tight shoulders after long workdays, sore legs after training, restricted movement that shows up when getting out of bed, these things can feel normal until skilled bodywork helps bring relief into focus. That is why we are excited to welcome Clarizza Nocum, LMT to our already talented massage therapy team. Clarizza brings a thoughtful, hands-on approach to massage therapy, with specialties that support people with a wide range of goals. Her work includes Deep Tissue Massage, Assisted Stretching, Sports Massage, Cupping Therapy, Myofascial Release, and Swedish Massage. She also has current openings, making this a great time to schedule a session and experience her work firsthand. A peaceful treatment space helps set the tone for focused, restorative care. Clarizza brings a focused and adaptable approach to massage Every person comes to massage therapy for a different reason. Some want targeted pressure for tight muscles. Some need help recovering from physical activity. Others simply need quiet time to ease stress and reconnect with their body. Clarizza’s range of specialties allows her to tailor each session to what the body needs that day. A client may book a deep tissue session but benefit from a blend of myofascial work and assisted stretching. Another person may come in after a long week and need the calmer rhythm of Swedish massage. That kind of flexibility matters. Good massage is not one-size-fits-all. It requires listening, communication, and the ability to adjust pressure, pace, and technique throughout the session. Clarizza’s work is especially well suited for clients who appreciate clear goals in a massage session. That might mean focusing on a stubborn area of tension, improving comfort through a range of movement, or easing general muscle fatigue. Her specialties support movement, recovery, and relaxation Clarizza offers several modalities that can be used on their own or blended into a session when appropriate. Each one has a different purpose. Deep Tissue Massage Deep tissue massage uses slower, more focused pressure to address deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. It is often chosen by people who feel persistent tightness in areas such as the neck, shoulders, back, hips, or legs. The goal is not to use the strongest pressure possible. The goal is to work with the tissue in a useful way. Clarizza can adjust the depth of pressure based on comfort, sensitivity, and the area being treated. Sports Massage Sports massage can be helpful for active people, whether they train often, play recreational sports, or spend long hours on their feet. Sessions may focus on muscle groups that work hard during running, lifting, cycling, court sports, or other physical activities. Sports massage may include targeted massage, stretching, and mobility-focused work. It can be used as part of a general wellness routine, during training periods, or after demanding activity. Focused pressure can help address areas that feel overworked or restricted. Assisted Stretching and Guided Breathwork Assisted stretching offers guided support for movement and flexibility. The therapist helps move the body through comfortable stretches while paying close attention to range, resistance, and ease. This can be especially useful for people who feel stiff but are not sure how to stretch safely or effectively on their own. It can also pair well with deep tissue or sports-focused bodywork. Cupping Therapy Cupping therapy uses suction cups placed on the skin to create gentle lift in the tissue. Some people choose cupping when they want a different type of sensation from hands-on massage. Cupping may leave temporary marks on the skin. Clarizza can explain what to expect before using this technique and can adjust the session based on comfort level. Myofascial Release Myofascial release focuses on fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles. This work is often slower and more subtle than traditional massage strokes. It can be a strong choice when tension feels broad, layered, or difficult to pinpoint. The pace gives the body time to respond instead of forcing tissue to change quickly. Swedish Massage Swedish massage is a classic option for relaxation and general wellness. It often includes long, flowing strokes, gentle kneading, and steady rhythm. For clients who want to unwind, calm the nervous system, and leave feeling more at ease, Swedish massage can be a great fit. It can also be combined with more targeted work when a session calls for both relaxation and relief. What to expect when booking with Clarizza A session with Clarizza begins with communication. Before the massage starts, she will want to understand what brings someone in that day. That may include areas of discomfort, pressure preferences, prior massage experience, activity level, and any techniques the client is interested in trying. Clear communication helps shape the session. If someone wants firm pressure but not intense discomfort, that matters. If a client prefers quiet during the massage, that can be honored. If an area feels too sensitive, the work can change. During the session, Clarizza may use one primary technique or combine several approaches. For example: A sports massage may include assisted stretching for the hips, hamstrings, or shoulders. A deep tissue session may include myofascial release before more focused pressure. A Swedish massage may include light targeted work for the neck or back. A cupping session may be paired with hands-on massage before or after cup placement. The best sessions happen when therapist and client work as a team. Feedback is welcome at any point, whether it is about pressure, temperature, positioning, or comfort. Who may be a good fit for Clarizza’s work Clarizza’s specialties make her a strong match for many massage goals. Her work may appeal to people who: Prefer deeper, more targeted massage Stay active through sports, fitness, or physically demanding routines Feel stiff and want supported stretching Are curious about cupping therapy Want slower fascial work for layered tension Need a relaxing Swedish massage to reset Like sessions that blend techniques based on need For everyday tension, muscle fatigue, and movement-related soreness, a skilled massage therapist can be an important part of a wellness routine. Clarizza’s training gives her several tools to support that kind of care.
